Discover how the Noto region is recovering from the New Year Day’s quake.
At this TAC Talk led by Sam Tabuchi, a member of the public-private partnerships team at the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe and a professor emeritus at Toyo University, attendees will learn how communities in the Noto Peninsula of northern Ishikawa Prefecture have responded to the damage caused by the major earthquake that struck on January 1, 2024.
A Noto native, Tabuchi will share details about the local response to the disaster, the status of recovery efforts and insights into how the area’s people are adapting and striving to preserve their rich heritage while looking to the future with resilience and determination.
Following his presentation, the talk will be opened to questions from the audience.
The TAC Talk is being held in conjunction with the Artists of Noto exhibition at the Frederick Harris Gallery.
